Dunster village
- 13th century castle and Yarn Market (1609) where cloth was sold.
Dunkery Beacon - highest point on Exmoor (1,700ft).
Tarr Steps - ancient 'clapper bridge' for pack horses carrying wool to Dunster.
Oare's church - setting for Lorna Doone (1869).
Minehead
- built around a pretty quay, with a steam railway running to Bishops Lydeard.
